Office 2007 trial for USA people only?

I've tried to download the Office 2007 trial, but it appears to be only for
people in the USA. Is this correct?

Check with your local subsidiary for availability - Office has not been optimized for all locales yet and your local MSFT office would have the best information on when it will be done.

Honestly speaking I cannot understand this.
Office 2007 has been localized for quite some countries and can be
downloaded by the VL clients.

And the trials are available for a number of countries.
AFAICS it's more or less a question of "know-where".

Do you have a URL for Australia?

Sorry, no.
But what would that be needed for?
There are no specific Australian versions.
So you can just download the English versions from the US
downloadsite.

Hi Alexa,

At present the Australia local page
http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/default.aspx
only lists the online test drive as being available. The local MS subsidiaries are able to choose how/if trial copies will be made
available in their area. There may be a way to get one once the product is on retails shelves.

Hi

I understand that.

However, I had a Microsoft Download Notifications email yesterday announcing
60 day trials without specifying US only but linking to the page requiring a
US postcode. The least they could have done was to expain the situation
(including availability dates) for non-US users in the Microsoft Download
Notifications email.

This has taken a lot of wasted time to track down, which is exasparating.

When I had been looking for a German download address and could not
find it, some other suggested to just make a fake and use some ZIP
cose for New York City. ;-)

Obviously time not spent inventive enough ;-)
I just tried to rplace the country in the URL for the trial downloads.
Bingo!!!
http://australia.trymicrosoftoffice.com/default.aspx
does what it's suupposed to do.
Go there and collect what you want.

All the best
