Automatic update or manual update is never able to install Office 2007
updates - I am using Vista Business - I have followed the instructions for
error messages and always get nowhere - It always downloads, says it is
installing and then always says failed.

Are you logged on with Administrator Rights when you try to install the
updates?

Yes, l am logged on with Administration rights. After my original post, I
tried to download the Service Pack update direct from Microsoft web site and
after downloading everything, installing, etc. it failed also.

Try the following

Put your Office CD into your CD\DVD-Rom before starting the download. And make sure that you leave it in there until the installation finishes
