Office 2007 updates called out for Office 2003

I am running Windows XP Professional V2002 SP3 and have Office 2003
installed. I went to Windows Update and selected Express. Windows update
returned a bunch of recommended updates for Office 2007.

I do not have the Office 2007 Compatibility pack installed.

Should I download and install the recommended updates for Office 2007 when I
am running Office 2003? If I do install them will they affect my Office 2003
programs?
