Office 2007 updates still failing on XP..a real solution?

Tried many of the suggestions many more than once except total reformat on an
XP pro box and still failing on these:

2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (KB946983)
Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB947801)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (KB946974)

Source files worked fine on other machines...this has been so on-going and
far flung someone must have a real solution...??
