Office 2007 Upgrade Editions

I have a question about Office 2007 Upgrade Editions. To install them, do
you need a prior, qualifying version of MS Office installed on your machine,
OR can you simply stick a physical disc of a prior, qualifying version of MS
Office into the CD drive during the installation process?

You should be able to just insert the CD.
