Office 2007 Upgrade from Office 2003 upgrade from office 97

I just bought a new laptop with Vista installed. It appears that vista
pushes you into a free trial to purchase office 2007. Since my older machine
is almost dead, I installed my office 97 original(can't beleive I still had
the disc), and then my office 2003 small business upgrade. After some
tweaking and searching the data base for some help on getting outlook to run,
I finally got it going ok. I would like to upgrade to ofice 2007. At the
store today in looking at the package, it says that I need an original
version from 2000 or later. Does the 2003 upgrade qualfy? I would hate to
lay out that kind of cash, and not have it install, and not be returnable.

thanx

The upgrade disk for 2003 will do. But first uninstall the trial, purchase a retail version from amazon.com (free shipping and better prices than buying the trial from Microsoft) and then install from your disks.

So - just to clarify this completely - MY 2003 upgrade from office 97 will
work as a qualiying office package for installing the office standard 2007
UPGRADE? I was concerned as it stated on the box you need an original
install from 2000 or later, and didn't know if my 2003 upgrade would qualify.

thanx

Hi Jack,

Yes, your MS Office 2003 upgrade CD is a qualifying product (doesn't have to be installed) for an Office 2007 upgrade package.
