I have just bought a new computer with a trial version of Office 2007
installed. As I did not wish to use the version on trial I uninstalled it
and installed a newly purchased (from a reputable company Amazon) and
installed it. The installation went well, the product was activated and
several updates downloaded and installed.
However, when I came to install an add-in (Save as PDF) my installation
failed to validate. I uninstalled Office 2007 and reinstalled it and have
again followed the Office fault finding program which says ' Start - Type
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application\Data|office Genuine Advantage|data - Delete
the file data.dat'
The data.dat was not found and I still cannot validate and download the
add-in.
I am now confused at what to do - the box that the program came in was
sealed and carries the usual Certificate of Authenticity.
All I can think of is some sort of legacy hang up from the originally
installed program that I uninstalled.
Can someone help please?
Thanks
