Outlook help says that BCM is on CD2 for Office Pro, Pro Plus and
Ultimate. Never mind that I haven't seen a download for a second CD for
Pro or Pro Plus, nor does the DVD for Ultimate have it.
Check your add-ins: Tools, Trust Center, Add-Ins. You have some add-in
that is not compatible with Outlook 2007, which is causing the delays at
startup. Safe mode disables all add-ins. I suggest you disable all your
add-ins that are not MS add-ins clearly marked to be for Office 12, and
then enable them one by one and test opening Outlook. If it's slow after
enabling one, then you found the culprit.

Outlook loaded much quicker in Safe Mode. I'm finding the load time sluggish
on initial loads, i.e. when first logging onto a profile for the day.
Subsequent loads are faster but still too slow for my liking.
I'm actually in dialogue in another group re BCM. They seem to think I have
to d/l Small Business to get BCM, which is inconsistent with MS's version
component outlines.

Randy,
Is it slow if you start in safe mode as well? Start, Run, "outlook
/safe"?
Good question about BCM. The full versions I installed claim that BCM
should be with them as well, but no...Is there another download, like a
second CD?

I uninstalled the Beta version of Office 2007 Pro, cleaned up with WICU,
rebooted, then installed the trial version. All components work fine with the
exception of Outlook.
Firstly, the initial load time is 'slow as mud'. I encountered this with the
beta version but was led to believe by other posts here that the release
version would be much faster. Not the case on my machine...
Secondly, the promotional material accompanying the download page infers
that the trial version is loaded with BCM yet it did not install. I went back
& performed a remove/add components and did not find BCM listed in the
component listings. Is BCM not included in the trial version?

You have to uninstall the beta versions first. See the RTM link below if
you run into errors while installing.
You are running the latest beta version, but the trials are indeed newer
(they are the release version). Keep in mind tha the beta you have is
good till March 31, while the trials are only 60 days.

A thought just crossed my mind without having read the release notes, etc.
for the trial version. Would it be fortuitous to first uninstall the Beta
version of any of the 2007 products? Thanks.
:
Hi R.D.U.,
The MS Office 2007 release product, available for download as a free 60 day trial would likely be the 'up to date' Office 2007
product.

=============
When I run Office Diagnostics I receive the following error dialog: "Beta
installation is out of date." The diagnostics results on the website inform
me that "The Update Diagnostic determined that your installation of the 2007
Office release (Beta) is not the most current version. We recommend that you
get the newer version. Of course, the web pointer takes you nowhere except to
the newsgroup. Any ideas? Thanks.>>
