BTW.. I think this Ribbon Bar hide the menus new version is atrocious for
advanced users. MS should create a CLASSIC VIEW OPTION where you can still
use tool and menu bars.

Lynne, I was once in 100% agreement with you. I still agree with the general
sentiment that Office 2007 has disreagarded the advanced user in too many
areas. However, I have discovered some mitigating factors that help make the
interface a bit friendlier to advanced users who want to move around as
quickly as possible:

1. You probably already know about the QAT. If you press Alt, each icon in
the QAT will show a number next to it, providing ultra-quick access to it. I
place the picture crop tool and all of my alignment commands there (commands
where I really abhor having to mouse off the slide to activate, only to then
have to mouse back to perform the work of the command).

2. Pressing Alt will also make each ribbon keystroke-accessible.

3. If you knew all of your PPT 03 keystrokes by heart (like Alt+FA to Save
As or Alt+DS for Set Up Show), just type them. PPT 07 will figure out what
you mean and actually perform the commands.

4. Third-party programmers are creating utilities for customizing ribbons
and for creating your own personal ones.


We're kindred spirits about this, but I have found some reasons to enjoy
using V07...
