Office 2007

Having used a trial version of Office 2007, I find myself with a dilemma
about purchasing this edition

I like Outlook very much but as I understand in order for it to work
properly one must install Word 2007. Herein lies my dilemma…..

If I send a Word 2007 document or an Excel 2007 file to one of my contacts
and they are using older versions, they will not be able to open or read them
unless they install converters.

For this reason, why would I even entertain the thought of buying this
version based on this ?

Are these converters free and easy to install? If so, I am not sure most
people would want to change anything in their computer set-ups.

Any advice or suggestions ?

Word 2007 allows you to save files in the older Word 97-2003 .doc
file format. And Excel 2007 allows you to save files in the
older Excel 97-2003 .xls format. So you have no dilemma.
