I recently had to reinstall vista small business, and now cannot get my
office 2007 to work, i have a product key and downloaded office but the key
does not work, any suggestions please

Two confusions - firstly there is no such thing as "Vista Small Business",
secondly the product key for Office is NOT the same as the product key for
Windows.
I think you need to clarify what you are doing/have done.

I had office 2007, bur reinstalled vista OS and activated via product key,
but now cannot use the
either ther the copy of office 2007 in windows old, or get a fresh download
to activate using the license key I had for my office suite. Thanks

Right. You need to re-install Office using the media you installed with
previously. Presumably, if you downloaded it then you kept a copy of the
file(s) you downloaded?

Unfortunately it came pre-installed, so no discs, is there any way of
reinstalling the copy contained in windows old file?

No.

You need to contact your vendor - if it was a paid-for version then they
have to give you installation media.
Are you sure it wasn't a trial version that you converted to a full licence?
