Office 2007

Of all the choices out there (community discussion, dashboard, live, etc.)
how can I contact someone with input on Microsoft's software. For example,
I want to know why any one would not display the most common commands on the
HOME tab in Office 2007. Print, Save, Open, Close, Spell Check, Undo, etc.
etc. etc. Yes, I know you can customize your own Toolbar, but not a
beginner. How can I emphasize how important this is, I don't suppose you can
customize the Tabs.

I would like to ask someone why they can't get input from those of us who
teach their products. It seems Microsoft is focusing on business and have
forgotten about those home users. Maybe it's time to go back to Works.

What if /my/ idea of a 'common command' is different from /your/ idea?

I actually find the ribbon to be a big improvement over the old menu system,
which was becoming just too unwieldy.

The ribbon took some getting used to...everything new does...but now that
I've spent some time with it, I hate going back to the 'ancient' menu system
in Office 2003, which I have to use at work.

Fortunately for me (and you), there's a ton of helpful information on the
internet to help us navigate the new Office layout which I found very
useful. As a teacher, you might find some excellent resources there.

Tell you students that they've been using a ribbon in many of their programs
for years: It's called a toolbar. A ribbon is just a toolbar with extra
icons. Once you get to learn where things have been grouped, it's a breeze
to navigate.

Which is not to say that everything about Office 2007 is perfect; nothing
ever is. But the 'old' versions of Office weren't perfect, either.

Err probably because the VAST majority of installations ARE in corporate
bodies?
MS has ALWAYS focussed on businesses.
