Office 2008 and SL 10.6

I wonder if any of the OS X 10.6 beta testers have tried it
with Office 2008? I will probably drag my feet on 10.6
until someone can assure me it will work with Office 2008.

It would be against NDA to give out any info about Snow Leopard.

My understanding is Snow Leopard is improvements under the hood and I
wouldn't expect any drastic changes that would break Office.

I can say I'm not beta testing so don't read any secret meaning into my
reply.

I am aware of the NDA's. I just hope one or more of the 10.6 beta tester
is also an Office 2008 user. If not the rest of us will become testers
once 10.6 is released.

Hello arkay;

I would be astounded if Office 2008 were not among the products included by
Apple itself in its development of Snow Leopard. Also, I have no doubt that
there a numerous Office 2008 users among the independent Snow Leopard beta
testers, but that doesn't relieve them of their NDA with Apple.

As Diane said, the pre-release info from Apple is that SL will not be an
overhaul of the OS in the same way Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, Leopard were. As
I understand it they're more focused more on fixing & fine-tuning Leopard,
so existing apps should continue to run -- perhaps better. The only
"constraint" I'm aware of is the SL will be Intel-only, so those running
Office - or anything else - on PPCs will be left out... But that's because
of the OS, not software compatibility.

All the above strictly is my opinion & interpretation of info that's "out
there". I have no involvement with Apple Beta testing of anything nor do I
claim to have any "inside information".
