Office 2008 Betas?

Will there be any public beta testing of Office 2008 like there was
with 2007 for Windows? I'd be very interested to try it out.

MacBU hasn't announced any public beta. If they do, they'll certainly
announce it at MacTopia:

Hi Matthew,

John's suggestion that you check at MacTopia once in a while is a good one,
but so far MacBU has not had public betas on any of the past versions of Mac
Office.

Like the advertisements say, "past performance is not a reliable indication
of future performance" but don't get your hopes up.

I am prepared to bet a fairly large sum of money that there will be NO
public beta for Mac Office 2008 :)

If there were, that would mean they had introduced Software Activation to
Mac Office, and I don't think they're about to do that either...

Without software activation, the software pirates could produce bootleg
copies of the software from the beta version. You can expect an early "Test
Drive" version shortly after the retail product ships. So my guess is that
we will be able to try it for free, but not until it's ready.

Cheers
