Office 2008 Charting data

T

talklists

I am lost, and have read and watched all the tutorials I can find.
None of Mac centric so I can not figure this out. I have what I would
call a basic file, with several sheets in it. One is a master sheet,
the rest that follow are pasted data that is linked to the master
sheet.

Each sheet represents data over the course of a day. Column E is an
average of data over the course of an hour. Column E is really all I
care about.

I would like to make a chart, column style, that has the R columns
data for the vertical and the corresponding date/time on the
horizontal. So there should be 24 items from left to right.

Can someone outline the steps to make this happen. I would like one
chart per sheet. I have put the file up where it can be downloaded.

Hello _________-

If I understand what you're looking for the big obstacle is how the data
values to be plotted are split up. Using the Jun 5 sheet I set up a small
table for the times & averages to be plotted as indicated below:

12:55 AM 981.55
1:55 AM 1054.43
2:55 AM 1065.88
3:55 AM 1076.21

.... And so on.

Then just select the 2 columns & pick your chart type.

There are probably other options as well, but I believe this will give you
what you want. The Y (value) axis gives the averages & the times populate
the X (series) axis resulting in 24 columns whose heights indicate the
average value for each time period.
