Office 2008 font menu does not show the font ?

By that I mean that it's just a list of fonts, and not the actual font
that it is supposed to be ?
In 2004, the font description was in the font it was describing,
therefore being very helpful. In 2008, the list is just that , a list,
and is no help at all.

That's a little bit too little info

Try: Preferences > General click check box next item beginning
WYSIWYG Font, to that check mark appears.

Not at doing so require Word to actually draw a sample of the fonts and
may cause Word to take longer to open And Font caches are very sensitive
to corruption. And doing the will tax the font Cache that much more.

If it's "fixed", don't "break it"!
