office 2008 installation

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

Comes up with message:
Install failed
Unable to install
The installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install

what do I do?

oh, and my macbook is completely new, I haven't installed anything except the software that's already in it in the box.
