Office 2008 programs won't open--they all freeze

I am running Leopard 10.5.4 on a Mac G5. I installed MS Office 2008, and the
programs ran OK for a short time. But now none of them will open--they all
hang and I have to "force quit" them.

One suggestion was deleting the .plist files for Office, which I did. This
brought me back to the installation window concerning customer service, but
after you quit that the programs still don't open.

Repaired permissions with disk utility. No change.

The MS Office programs have been updated to the latest versions as of June 13.

Any thoughts?

Did you mean 10.5.3?

Try this:

1. Use "Remove Office" to remove Office.
2. Run the Apple combo updater:

pdate.html>
3. Log out/in with shift key down to disable all startup items. Do not have
any applications open.
4. Insert your Microsoft Office install CD, run installer and let the
AutoUpdate update. Go no further and restart!
5. Open any application and AutoUpdate will update itself again, then it
will update to 12.1.0.
6. Restart

If you still have problems, then you will need to do an "Archive & Install".
I had to do an "Archive & Install" recently and the only thing I had to
re-install was my Microsoft keyboard software.
