Office 2008 upgrade confirmation

I bought Office 2004 just before Xmas this year so I qualify for the
2008 upgrade. I followed all of the instructions and sent in my
upgrade package.

My concern is that the deadline is mid-February. If, for some reason,
my package gets lost in the mail, I won't know that until after the
deadline passes. And if it is lost, I sent the box top in with my
original mailing so I won't have that to send in.

Long winded way of asking if there is any way of confirming that Bill
Gates actually got my upgrade request?

If Bill Gates actually got your request, you REALLY have a problem ‹ he is
no longer involved with Microsoft as anything other than a shareholder
Bill has gone off to work on his charitable foundations.

There is no easy way to tell that Microsoft received your package, unless
you sent it by Registered Post with Delivery Receipt (Signature) Required.

However, if you telephone Microsoft on the number in your phone book, and
are very patient while they transfer you from person to person, ultimately
you will end up talking to someone who may be able to look in a pile of
300,000 box tops and see if yours is among them.

Be nice, and be prepared to be persistent
