Office 2010 Beta - problem found, where to report?

After installation and opening any Office Beta, it tries to activate but
cannot connect, even though the DSL connection is active and open. Instead,
an error message pops up for my Microsoft wireless mouse 5000, saying "Sorry,
it needs to close". (the mouse continues to work, but without certain
features). This is a repeatable problem.

I checked to see if perhaps the MS Live OneCare firewall might be blocking
it, but it wasn't listed. I have the E-mail with the activation code, but
since the activation never gets to the entry screen I cannot enter it.

Problems are not unexpected with Beta tests, thats why beta tests are done.
But I've spent the past half hour trying to find where to report the problem!
No mention of error reporting in any of the e-mails, and this forum is the
closest thing I could find on the Microsoft website! Not meaning to be rude,
but there really should be a place reserved on your website for reporting
beta test problems.

I also have Office 2007 Home installed, it is working fine, no problem there.

either the forum you were notified about when you downloaded the beta or
using the Send a Frown that should be in your system tray.

I completely understand your frustration.

MS doesn't make it very clear that this is more of a preview program that allows you to test
the software against your own needs rather than an opportunity for you to test and report bugs
to MS. That's really what it is, though, and that accounts for the lack of any bug-reporting
avenues.

That might be the best place to see if anyone else is familiar with your bug and possibily to
get it reported.

As LVTravel suggested - use the Send a Frown method to report a bug.

Having participated in other beta programs for widely popular programs,
while to "us (participants)", a discussion forum might seem a likely
method, but to the company overseeing the bug reporting - the sheer number
of participants can be overwhelming -

The Send a Frown method is a more uniform reporting method that Microsoft
can analyze much more quickly with a built in screen shot method (optional,
of course) that is much more efficient than forum discussions -

yes, we like feedback as a participant, but again, it's the overwhelming
numbers that prevent that on a practical basis.

BTDT and have other methods of reporting bugs.

But I agree, reporting via the beta forum isn't going to be all that effective, if it has any
effect at all. But by doing that we often learn that someone else has encountered the
problem and reported or even solved it, so a lot of experienced beta testers will check with
the other testers first, then report.

But SAS (or in this case SAF ... why don't we have SAROD, Send A Roar Of Disapproval?) is
always a good idea.
