Hi, Ian. You're confusing two different codes. The 25-digit code is a CD
key that is located on a small yellow/orange sticker on the back of the
Office CD case. The 20-digit code is a product ID.

Ian,

I am with you. There is something really going on with
the Office 2003 installation that doesn't make good
sense. I installed the product on my laptop and it to the
25 digit code from the case just fine. When I go to open
an installation it insists on a 25 digit code and refuses
to accept the 25 digit code that came with the software.

To ask questions you are some how supposed to look up the
software ID using the help screen that you can't look at
since you don't know a good 25 digit code.

These are sick people we are dealing with.

I suspect it still needs "Activation". The easiest way is to
do it via the internet but you can also call. I had a problem
with Visio 2002 reinstalling when my OS got wiped out by the
attempted installation of Visual Studio .NET so I had to call
instead of use the internet since it looked like I was trying
to install it too many times.

I think the "About" menu item on the far right side will tell
you your product ID code used get the activation code.
