office 2997 package definition files ( to use with SMS)

R

Robin

There is a lovely white paper entitled "Deploying the 2007 Office release
with Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 R2

March 2007"
that alludes to office 2007 package definition files, and pointes to Office
2007 resource kit.

The problem is that the reskit has no mention of said files, zip, nada,
finito.

SMS PSG says the issue lies with office. They can give me no estimated time
of delivery of said package files. This issue is rather critical to a SMS
2003 R2 installation, and if unanswered block a license sale for said product
into M$ coffers.

So where are the missing files guys?

Hi Robin,

You're correct that the SMS Package Definition Files for Office 2007 are not yet available. My guess would be mid-late June. If
you have an earlier requirement and need specifically to use those files you may want to build your own or check with the folks in
the SMS discussion group (link below) on methods folks are currently using
