Office 2k Administrative point fails

H

HenryH

I am trying to install Office 2000 on to a Small Business
Server (Windows 2000 server SP1) to an administrative
point with the "setup /a" command.

I get a splash screen saying that "Preparing to install
Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Small Business"

The CD light flickers for several minutes and then a small
window tells me "Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Small Business
setup completed successfully."

The problem is that it has not asked for CD key or
location and I can't find any of the files on the (J:)
drive.

Any and all advice appreciated.

Hi Henry,

It sounds like you have an OEM copy of Office 2000.
Retail and volume license copies of MS Office 2000
support Admin Setup points, OEM copies do not and
you may find that the installed files are in the
root folder of one of your drives.
