I recently upgraded from Win98 to XP. I have Office 2k installed but it's not
working correctly. Word works fine, but Excel is messed up. I have several
Excel files, the icon doesn't show the standard Excel icon, if I double click
it, it won't launch excel, it looks like it tries to launch the windows
installer, but nothing happens. If I open Excel, I can open the files. If I
right click the file, it is associated with Excel already. I have tried
removeing the association and reassociating the file and with the same
results. I have uninstalled the entire office program and reinstalled with
the same results.
Is there an Office registry clean utility that will remove all references of
office products from the registry or am I going to have to do this manually?
Please take note, I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times, I
have already tried to reassociated the files with Excel and I have already
tried the regserver/unregserver trick on the microsoft website.
Thanks for you assistance...
