A full installation of Office 2K premium SR1 (circa 2004) on a win-98
system has recently started to ask for the original Office CD when
Excel, Word and Photo-draw is launched (but not Outlook).
I believe this behavior is normal when the "run application from CD"
is selected when these apps are originally installed, but in this case
the entire office suite was installed about 4 years ago with the
"install entire app on this machine" option selected.
What would have to happen for an app like excel or word to start
behaving like it thinks it needs to run from the CD (or in any case it
starts the installation process when the app is launched)?
