office 97 and millenium

I have office 97 and want to install it on a machine with
the millenium version but it will not read anything past
4%. I think I need to upgrade the office 97 but don't know
how to.

Office 97 is compatible with Windows Millenium Edition (ME).
Check to see if your CD is clean and be sure to shut down all
otehr apps and utilities, including your antivirus software when
installing.

If you're then still seeing the problem what is the exact error
message you're seeing?

Once you have installed MS Office 97 you can download updates
to it from http://office.microsoft.com/downloads
