Office 97 and WIN XP Problem

P

Pete Rochford

We have installed Office 97 on a WIN XP workstation. We have a problem that
when we try to open a file in Word, we get the message that the file is
being used already and would we like to make a copy. Clicking cancel gets us
out of it but clicking yes gives another message that it cannot create the
file. Also, Excel has a problem that when you try to save a file, it says
that the file already exists. This is frustrating to say the least. Can
anyone help please?

Thanks

I can't help, but experience the same problem and would likewise
appreciate a solution.
