Office 97 and Windows 2000

I have Windows 2000 machines running Office 97. I recently redirected all
users MyDocuments directory to a network path using a Group Policy.

Now if i go to the users MyDocuments directory through Windows Explorer i
can see all their documents within MyDocuments, but when i search though Word
or Excel, its looking at the wrong MyDocuments directory. It's looking at the
MyDocuments directory for default user profile. What would be causing this
and is there a way to set it to look that the currently logged on users
MyDocuments directory?
