Office 97 compatible with XP?

I need to replace an older system, but want to install
Office 97 since it does everything we need. Will it work
on XP? If not, how about on Windows 2000?

Office 97 will run just fine on Windows XP.

Occasionally, after installing Office 97 on Windows XP or Windows 2000, you
will receive the following message: "Microsoft Access can't start because
there is no license for it on this machine." This problem is due, of all
things, to a font. The fix for that problem, should it occur, is found at:
