office 97 install won't run in xp

I am trying to install office 97 on an xp machine. The install disk doesn't
run and doesn't show up on "My Computer" cd drive. How do I do this?

The CD Rom is working. I tried music and recent data cd's and they run fine.
The office 97 cd runs perfectly on my windows 98 machine but won't run or

Right-click the CD, click explore and start the setup manually. Try to install
in safe mode. Disable your anti-virus software.
