I have a strange problem with my Office 97 not running on
Windows 2000. If I try and start any Office program, it
takes FOREVER to load. When it finally does load, it won't
respond. Click on a menu and something might happen after
a minute. Ultimately, you have to use Task Manager to
close the app. Wait, it gets more wierd. Reboot your
machine as opposed to using Task Manager and the app loads
instantly right before the OS shuts down. And after
rebooting 5 or 6 times, Office will finally run.
I can't find a single KB article addressing this. I find
it hard to believe since half the people in my office have
this same problem. Any ideas?
Bill
P.S. I have PLENTY of memory...HD and RAM on a Pentium 4
Dell. Also, Both Office and Windows have the lastest
patches and upgrades.
