Office 97 - Powerpoint / Office xp Standard - "Downdate"

New computer from Dell with Office xp installed, have
original Office97 disk from 1997 purchase. xp Standard
does not include Powerpoint. Can I load the Powerpoint
from the Office97 disk on top of the xp without disrupting
the xp functionally? If yes, any guidelines? Thanks.
