I have an OEM version of Office 97 that came with my old Packard Bell computer (I'm now using it on a newer ABS PC). I had to reformat the hard drive and neglected to copy down the Office license number and have now discovered that I've lost the original product key document. Packard Bell is out of business so I can't get any info from them. How can I re-load and activate this software? It's the original disk and was paid for years ago. Microsoft.com doesn't support Office 97 anymore and I can't figure out a way to contact them for help. I've already gone through all the online documentation and support info and can't find an answer.
If there's no way to activate it, will I be able to use it to upgrade to Office 2003? Or will Microsoft require the product key for upgrade pricing?
I'm so frustrated!! Thanks for any help you can give!
