Office 97 remove toolbar

How do I have the Office 97 not load on my desktop. All
the programs it shows are already on my desk top. When I
try to remove it I get a message that says at least one
item must remain on my desktop. Thanks

You can remove it completely from Add/Remove Programs, Change Office. Or you
can stop it from loading by right-clicking the tiny logo on the left end,
selecting "exit" and answering no to the dialogue box that comes up(that you
don't want the toolbar to start on the next boot).
BTW, you'll need your Office CD for the first option.
