Office 97 running in XP

I recently installed Office 97 Pro on a laptop running WinXP Home and so
far don't see any problems. XP is fully updated from the MS site.
Disable your anti-virus when you install 97 from the disk though as
programs such as Norton can cause error messages during installation.

In case it's important... If you have not yet upgraded to XP, uninstall
Office 97 first. Also uninstall all peripherals and incompatible programmes.

Install Xp then reinstall everything, making sure you have updated
drivers....

Good luck,

HI there.

I am having a problem with this. Just purchased a Combo
Box with Windows XP Home Editon and tried to install
Office 97 on the XP platform. Windows Explorer didn't even
detect a CD in the D Drive when I inserted the CD in. I am
really happy with Office 97 and it does all the things I
want. Can't understand what is happening here. Does anyone
have a workaround with this???

The issue would be with your CD media, CD drive or Windows, not Office
(especially since your computer is apparently oblivious to the Office CD).

Do any other CDs work? Does this CD work in other CD drive?
