I am experiencing an annoying program glitch in Office
97. I have installed the programs Word,Excel,PowerPoint,
etc from the original program disc I purchased from
Microsoft.
Everything runs in Windows XP just fine. Only glitch is
that when I create a new file in any of the mentioned
programs and go to save it in the default folder "My
Documents," the file name I type disappears and is saved
only as the first letter of the file name I give to it.
I've reinstalled the programs twice on two separate
computers running Windows XP and neither one will save the
file to its full given name.
To correct the problem, I must go to Windows XP Explorer,
locate the "one letter" file and then rename it as what I
originally typed, but this is a real pain in the "a**".
Anybody out there have a suggestion of what I might do to
correct this annoying problem?
I'd be truly greatful for a solution.
Frustrated,
John
