Office 97 & service pack

I am installing a real estate document assistant and it
won't complete as I get an error message which says:
"System check, a version of Microsoft OFfice 97 has been
detected on your computer. HP Real Estate Document
Assistant FA requires Microsoft Word 97 with Service Pack
1 or later be installed."
It then refers me to the Microsoft website and from here I
am completely confused. What do I need to do so that I
can install this document assistant?
IF it helps I have Windows 98SE

Go to Office downloads and select the option for Office 97 downloads.
Select the updates and then the SP-1 update (to be completely safe, you
should download all of the updates)

Or, you can purchase a newer version (Office 97 is no longer supported) and
get the latest features and security.

Microsoft has many web sites. If you are going to Office Update, than
Office 97 is no longer supported at that site.

Have you tried Microsoft Download Center at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?LangID=20&LangDIR=EN-US ?

At the above site click on the down arrow in the Product/Technology box.
Scroll down and select Office System.

In the Keyword box enter Office 97. Click on Go. You with get a list of
files available for download for Office 97 including several updates. You
will likely need your Office 97 CD to install the updates. If I recall
correctly, Service Packs for Office 97 must be installed in order. That is
install Service Pack 1 prior to Service Pack 2.

I went and downloaded all the updates. Now I have all
these little icons on my desktop, so does that mean the
download worked? Can I delete these icons without doing
any damage to anything?
