Is Office 97 SR2 fully support in Windows XP Professional?

My Office 97 CD is label "SR2", do I have to apply SR2b from Microsoft?

Yes and probably yes.

You might have some problems installing Office 97 if your version of XP
has service pack 2 installed, if so, go to http://groups.google.com and
enter "install Office 97 with SP2" (without the quotation marks) and
take a look at the various fixes and workarounds.

NOTE: My apologies if you're familiar with using Google to search
newsgroups but I threw the details in just in case.

After you installed Office, open Word (or any application in Office),
click on Help/About and it will tell you what SRs are installed (if I
remember correctly).

You can download any updates you'd like to have from Microsoft:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/CD010224961033.aspx

So if SR2b isn't installed you can get it for free.
