This weekend I had to do a clean reinstall of Windows Me
on my children's computer. When I went to install Office
97 Standard Edition full (non-upgrade) version it thinks
it's an upgrade. I had this problem on the original
upgrade in CY2000 however at that time Microsoft provided
free phone support - at the free mail support person's
suggetion - that got me going in a single short call!
Does anyone know a work around on this issue? There does
not seem to be any help for this on TechNet. It would
not be reasonable, Microsoft should agree, for me to
spend additional money on support to get the full, stand
alone version of a product I already paid for working?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Troy
