Office 97 Update

R

rdbatten

I bought my Dell computer in Sept 1997 through my company
(Shell) and as part of the purchase MS Office Professional
1997 was installed. I received a cd entitled Shell Home PC
Program MS Office-97 PRO(SR1) with a key code per
Microsoft agreement # 52-40022. I am ready to buy a new
computer and my question is can I buy the Microsoft Office
Upgrade package for 2003 or do I have to buy the new
version. The problem is I tried to load a copy of the cd
to my laptop and it would not load the Access program
without verification which I don't know what to do.

Hi R.D.,

You should be able to use the Office 2003 upgrade editions.
If Access gave you an error message about 'no license' it's
a bug. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=141373
