Office 97 upgrade on Windows XP

Jody

I'm going to be purchasing a new computer. I have Office
97 and have been told that it cannot be loaded on a
Windows XP operating system. Can I purchase the Office
upgrade and get it to work somehow?

Hi Jody,

Office 97 works on Windows XP (be sure to download the
updates from http://office.microsoft.com/downloads after
installing and running the apps at least once).

Office 97 also qualifies for the upgrade edition
of MS Office XP
http://microsoft.com/office/howtobuy
although you may want to hold off on that purchase
a month or two until there is a MS announcement of
a 'technology guarantee' period for when you buy
Office XP close to the impending release of Office 2003.
