Office 97 vs. Office 2003

Then no, for all components, all files created in Office 2003 cannot be
opened with Office 97 componets. Some can, but not all. Office 97 is
about 5-6 years older than Office 2003 and they weren't thinking too
hard about Office 2003 when they were working on Office 97.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

The company I work for is thinking about upgrading, but we
have a mixture of Windows 98 and 2000 machines. Microsoft
says that 2003 requires Windows 2000 SP3. Is that true?

As a general rule, save files from 2003 as 97 format. For
example, Word documents should be saved as Word 97
documents. Of course, there are exceptions to every
rule...

Good luck!

I have no reason not to think that published system requirements aren't
indeed requirements.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
