Yes. As a general rule, just about any older version of Office works with
any newer version of Windows. The reverse isn't always true, however
(especially for the upcoming Office 2003, or whatever it might be called,
which requires Windows XP or Windows 2000Sp3).

I have been told that there is a utility to improve
performance of office 97 when running with Windows XP. Is
