Office 97 won't reinstall

W

will

Hi,
My system crashed last week and I had to do a complete
restore off the Recovery CD. Now when I try to reinstall
Office 97 (upgrade) it tells me that it can't because it
can't locate and verify that there is an approved program
to upgrade from. My PC has MS Works installed on the hard
drive. Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

Hi Will,

Unless the qualifying product for upgrade, in this case
MS Works, is a version older than Office 97, the Office
setup program doesn't know how to recognize it. You can
contact MS for a workaround if that's the case:
