Office 97

I have office 97 on my computer now. It was an upgrade
and when I loaded the program it asked for a former
version which I had. I no longer have the former version
and am buying a new notebook. How will I get Office 97 on
the new notebook?

Find the qualifying product. If you read the EULA for the upgrade, it
states that you must keep the qualifying product as it becomes a part of the
upgrade and is not separable. Therefore, you now have an invalid upgrade CD
since you no longer have the qualifying product.

See if one of your friends or acquaintances has an older version of Works
(Version 5 or earlier) or perhaps an Office Suite from Lotus or Corel. I
think those were qualifiers for Office 97 upgrades.
