I have a couple of old Pentimum III that does not have
the system requirements for Office XP. I also have an
older notebook that has limited memory and Hardisk. I am
looking for copies of Windows 98 SE and Office 97. Does
any one know Where I can find them?

It took me 30 minutes to find this newsgroup please send
replies to (e-mail address removed)

Thanks for your help

Heck, I am running Windows XP on a PII 333 laptop with Office 2003 - it runs
fine. PIIIs should be able to run anything up to and including Windows XP.
Just up the RAM to 128 or so and you will be fine.

If this is not feasible, then look to your local system builders to see if
they have a dusty old copy that you can buy from them. You might also want
to try local shops that may have a copy.

One last thing, if you have been wondering about Linux, those machines will
run any flavor - I have Mandrake 9.1 running on another laptop.

O've actually managed to, surprisingly easily, get Windows 2000
Professional SP-4, Office 97 Professional, Novell Intranetware client
32, and Eudora Pro 4.3 to work on a old PC that has a Cyrix 333
processor and 32Mb RAM on the mainboard.

As long as you try not do too many things at once, it works pretty
well.
