Office 97

We use office 97 on our company computer: It is very old.
It died: We purchased a new one and attempted to install
office 97: Found out it is an upgrade version: there are
no details on what program is needed to upgrade and allow
installation: Please Help

My recollection is that it will be looking for Office 95. You might
find the information in the README.TXT or some other file on the CD.

Hi Ken,

The list of qualifying products for the Office 97 upgrade is fairly
broad. Check the list in this KB and see if you have any of the
products:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q158069

Note you do not need to install the qualifying product. When the
installation will prompts you for the qualifying product insert the
disk or CD.
