Garry

Hi, I have office 2003 on my pc.
The problem i have is i am in the process of moving and i
have all my codes packed away.
I had to reinstall my backup cd's to a new hard drive due
to a disk failure.
I am now asked to reinstall office as it cant find parts
of it.

Can i locate my code on my pc?
If so how?

Thanks
Garry

If by "reinstall my backup CDs" you mean that you've reset the computer to
factory settings then, n,o you can't. You will need to ask the vendor and/or
manufacturer for a replacement key. All support, including replacement keys
and media, is the responsibility of the vendor and/or manufacturer.
Microsoft does not, will not and, indeed, cannot offer any support for
OEM-supplied software.

Reading your answer to Garry, my thought are that I have to buy a new Offfice 2003 Sofware Package ? Is this the only solution ?
Thanks for your advice

No, you do exactly as I advised him - you contact the vendor and/or
manufacturer. I don't know how you drew that conclusion!

As to activation codes or product keys and lost situations, you always have
this solution with Microsoft provided you have the *CD in hand* if you
can't find the Product key, and the product in question here is a version of
Microsoft Office. You can call MSFT and read them the *part number off the
CD*, and they'll issue you a new product key aka activation code. They may
charge you ten bucks for it. Bill , Jeff Raikes, and Steve Sinofsky have to
eat.
