Office Activation

I was wondering if there was a way to deactivate my copy of Office with the
Microsoft database?

I presently own a home desktop computer and a laptop. I have Office 2003
installed on both my desktop and laptop computer and both activated just fine.

Here is my problem:

I recently purchased a new laptop from Dell. I erased and reformatted my
harddrive (for security purposes) and sent it back to Dell via their
"Recycle" program. Additionally, I have had to replace my desktops
motherboard due to a problem with my AGP slot. CompUSA replaced my old Abit
motherboard with a new Gigabyte motherboard. EVERYTHING else has remaning the
same in the desktop compuer.

I recently tried to install Office 2003 SBE on both of my computers and I've
had to call into the Microsoft activation center. I was able to activate but
I was also on the phone for close to 30 minutes. Is there any way to have it
activate automatically via the internet or is this going to be tied to my old
computer's information forever!?!?

Can't I have Microsoft deactivate my old activation information due to the
fact that I am no longer in posession of the first laptop AND Office was
removed? Also, I had to reactivate my copy of Windows on my desktop and it
does via internet, why won't Office?
