Office and ME?

I have Windows ME at home with MS Works. I want to upgrade to Office. Which versions of Office are compatible with ME (new or old)? (I do not want to have to upgrade the ME to XP).

1) If you don't wish to upgrade to XP, that's your choice (but I say
you're a masochist).

2) The last version of Office to work under ME was XP. Please note,
however, that the qualifying products are quite rigid. Unless you have a
copy of 97 or 2000 (which you obviously don't or you wouldn't be asking the
question) you don't qualify for an upgrade. Works is *not* a qualifying
product. Also note that XP has been discontinued (though you might find
stores with a few copies still).

Office 2000 is great and no authorizations, let me look at your hardware
bullshit to go through. You can probably find it on Ebay.

Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware. Buying on eBay isn't usually the most
sensible way to go about it. It also isn't true to say that Office 2000
doesn't require activation. The later version (that with SP1 already
included) does.
